Flowers for Red Themed Weddings

The color scheme for a wedding is one of the most important pieces that the couple has to choose. Once you have made that choice than everything must follow that style from bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen cummerbunds/vests, and especially the flowers. One of the classic style weddings is to have black and white with just a splash of red especially in the flower arrangements and the bridal bouquet. The following are some flower ideas that can help in your choice when you have decided to go with red wedding flowers.

Roses - This is one of the most obvious choices, one of the most beautiful, and most expensive. They are the standard for many weddings and always give off a wonderful scent, however covering your alter, your aisle way, and bouquets for your bridesmaids and you can be pricey. The best way to purchase these special red wedding flowers would be to visit local greenhouses in your area. A lot of times you can cut all the roses you need for yourself that way you are going straight to the source and doing the work yourself which can bring down the cost for you, than you can either have them arranged or if you have someone in the family that is creative have them arrange it for you. Roses look lovely interspersed with daisies, babies breath, lilies, and many others. With roses you will likely be spending over a thousand dollars just in your flowers so make sure these are really what you want.

Gerbera Daisies - These daisies are large, very beautiful, and come in almost any color you like even red. They are not as beautiful smelling but they will give you a more unique floral arrangement and they will stand out in the bright reds that they come in. These would probably work better for less formal weddings just due to the type of flower that it is. These red wedding flowers will be less expensive than roses but if you choose them in winter they can still be pricey. However you could outfit your alter, aisle, and all the bridal party in under a grand depending on where you live of course. Again some of the best ideas is to go to the source and cut these yourself. Gerbera daisies can also be found grown wild on farms and you can get them there.

Lilies - Lilies do come in beautiful reds. There is a specific lily called the Red Twinkle Lily that is a rich and deep red that is beautiful for any kind of wedding. This is a version of a Tiger Lily and is of course easier and cheaper to buy these red wedding flowers in the summer and fall. After this you can find the flowers in green houses or ordering through wedding stores however they will more than likely double in price. These fall under the pricing for Gerbera Daisies as well they can be expensive but they don't have to kill your pocketbook especially if you blend them with other less expensive flowers such as carnations.

Carnations - These are a less formal flower but they do come in red and are very inexpensive. You likely could take care of all of your floral needs for only a few hundred dollars. Carnations although they do not bloom all year they usually do not spike in prices no matter the season. These red wedding flowers use also does not have a season they wont fit into your wedding. The only downside is you rarely see these at a very formal wedding. These flowers you can find at most any florist or greenhouse. Sometimes buying through your wedding dress shop is good because they purchase in bulk most times and can find you a deal.

With any wedding choice remember make sure you do something that is going to make you happy. Luckily with followers you can mix a variety of blooms to give you the exact look, and price you really want for your wedding.

How to Save Money on Wedding Flowers ll

By carefully choosing your wedding flowers, you can easily save hundreds of dollars for other things in your wedding budget. The cost of flowers are greatly influenced by season, type, and location. Choose as carefully and you can focus on the other parts of the wedding celebration.

Florists are professionals and should be able to help you keep costs low. Come to them with a budget and ask for any advice they may have to save money. A good florist will have created floral designs for hundreds of weddings and should be willing to share with you tips on how to get the best arrangements for your budget.

Flowers used to decorate the wedding or reception area are often the most costly. Consider choosing a place that is already green and lush and will require little extra decoration, such as park or garden. If you have flexibility in the date, try to get married in a church when it is already decorated, usually during Christmas and Easter.

If you are getting married at a popular venue for weddings, inquire if other weddings are being scheduled on that day. If so, it may be possible to coordinate the floral designs between the ceremonies. This can save a lot of money, but is only possible if both weddings are willing to work together. In this case, it is best to try to choose neutral colors.

Some people attempt to use the same flowers used to decorate the church at the reception as well to save money. Many florists refuse to transport the arrangements a second time, citing damage to the blossoms. Some churches also require that any decorations be left. If you do decide to try this, make sure that they will arrive to the reception before the guests.

Although large arrangements can be expensive, you can use inexpensive blossoms to create them, since it is doubtful they will be examined in much detail. Large flowers can also create beautiful, dramatic arrangements at a fraction of the cost for the same size wedding arrangement made of smaller flowers. Other floral arrangements make use of other inexpensive materials to save money, such as candles or fruit to give weight to centerpieces.
The dates you choose for the wedding will also determine the cost of the flowers. In February, flower costs are high due to Valentine's Day. Conversely, many popular flowers are in season in May or June, which will lower the cost of the arrangements. Always ask the florist what flowers are in season during your wedding. If you like them enough to use them in your wedding, you can save up to 30% in the overall flower costs.

If you have creative and talented friends or family, consider asking them to arrange the flowers for your wedding. Many modern arrangements are no more than a few well chosen blooms tied together with some ribbon.

You can also try to make some of the simpler arrangements yourself and have a florist make more complicated arrangements. You might also want to consider having the brides bouquet specially made, especially if you are planning to save it.

If you have friends willing to make the arrangements, you should be able to save by buying wholesale. Also remember that most florists deliver the arrangements as well, so you will need someone willing to complete that task on the wedding day.

When planning an event as large as a wedding, it is easy to become overly concerned with the individual aspects rather the entire celebration. Take care in selecting your flowers, but keep in mind that most people will not notice the arrangements over the bride.
